Every day we witness different forms of violence and inhumanity in our world. One day it’s in the Middle East , another in Eastern Europe or Africa , and yet another right here in America . In the last century, genocide, the ultimate form of violence, was repeated again and again, beginning with the Armenian Genocide and continuing with the Holocaust,
Cambodia , Rwanda and Darfur …

In the spirit of “learning from the past, shaping our future,” the Armenian National Committee of Burbank is sponsoring an essay and artcontest to commemorate the Armenian Genocide of 1915 – 1923 and to create an opportunity for learning the broader lessons that it offers.

Teachers and currently enrolled BUSD students in grades 10-12
are invited to participate in this contest!
